Brimfield, MA hosts one of the largest antique shows in the country. Thousands of dealers unload their trucks and vans for over a hundred thousand people on over twenty fenced off and gated fields, each opening at their own designated time. The crowds gather promptly, anxiously awaiting the sounding of the bell. Each field holds the promise of something fantastic--possibly the one antique they have been looking for for years, the item they dream about, a last piece in a collection. The trick is to get to it first because in the midst, sniffing around, are some of the world's most successful and specialized antique dealers. They, too, are looking for their diamond in the rough. ANTIQUE ROADKILL follows three New York City dealers who have been coming to Brimfield for dozens of years like it's some annual party. Stumbling through rain soaked fields, the dealers guide us with their war stories as well as the sordid history of wild parties years ago. From the moment the gates are opened, we follow them trying to earn a buck while teaching us the secrets of their trade. This is not the side of antiquing you are used to seeing. Professional and comical, ANTIQUE ROADKILL takes you through the evaluating and haggling of antiques in the marketplace and then bringing it back to New York City where we learn what all the fuss was about. Starring Suzanne Lipschutz (Second Hand Rose), Bill Cervera, Leonard Tomkinson, and many other icons of the New York Antique scene. Copyright 2003 ...

- Pickers and Grinners - Is that Loughlin pee? (BTW the Smiths suck) - Luke's Farm This is Robert's territory. He seems comfortable in this space in the back of the Grand Bazaar. There are bits of his art all around. He has a piece painted on an old photo drying rack. He's taken a long piece of yellow paper and has drawn one of his signature faces along with the words "The Smiths suck" on one side and "Pixies" and "Cure" on the other. The mirror on a vanity has been tagged with a face and he's got his own public urination spot next to the adjacent church.

The windows of the truck are steamed up, so I assume Gary must be in there. Gary is an actor/director and has appeared as a principal in music videos for Stevie Winwood and C+C Music Factory, among others, but he is also well known as Roberts model. I look in the front windshield and see his face through the steamed glass; it strikes me how much it looks like Robertss paintings all blurred from the condensation..
